crochet pavilion\u2019s goal is to demonstrate how traditional textile techniques can merge with parametric design tools to create immersive spatial experiences. This study between the purely parametric and the purely traditional allows a pause for reflection on the emotional resonance of handmade items among a world of rapid technological advancement.<\/p><p>The textile of this structure is composed of worsted-weight synthetic acrylic yarn. Its geometry is generated through parametric modeling, then physically realized using double crochet stitches, forming structurally interlocking panels. These panels are then joined by hand using whip stitching, a sewing technique that allows for a strong yet discreet bond. The structural frame consists of a modular, lightweight support rods \u2013 chosen for their tensile capabilities and ease of transport and assembly.
