The tour will begin with a visit to the Ex Convento de El Carmen, a 17th-century Catholic convent and church, now converted into the Museo del Carmen, which houses a remarkable collection of New Spanish religious art within a Baroque architectural setting.
The route continues to San Jacinto Plaza, where we will visit Casa del Risco, an 18th-century historical house with a private art collection and a remarkable Baroque fountain. We will also visit the Temple and Ex-Convent of San Jacinto, dating from the 16th century.
Next, we will visit the Parish of San Sebastián Mártir de Chimalistac, whose chapel also dates back to the 16th century.
The tour concludes with a walk to the San Ángel Cultural Center and the Melchor Múzquiz Market, whose façade features murals by Ariosto Otero, offering a vibrant depiction of Mexico’s past and present.
Note: The neighborhood offers a wide variety of dining options for lunch (not included in the programme fee).
